VIDEO: Minnetonka Middle Schoolers Shop for Families in Need

Students raised more than $4,500 through fundraisers over the last few weeks and shopped for eight families who live in the Minnetonka area.

The following comes from Minnetonka Schools:

About 30 students from Minnetonka Middle School East woke-up early on Dec. 13 to help local families in need. Students met at Target before school started and crossed items off the list of needs for local families as they placed shoes, socks and toys in their carts.

“It makes us feel really good because we are helping a lot of people in our community,” shared eighth grade student Adrienne R.  “It makes us feel like leaders.”

Students raised more than $4,500 through fundraisers over the last few weeks.  The students shopped for eight families who live in the Minnetonka area. Extra money that was not spent on the families will go toward the school’s upcoming “Pennies for Patients” drive which benefits the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

The fundraisers are organized by the Student Leadership group at Minnetonka Middle School East, under the direction of Bev Antilley.
