I am so excited about the future of Patch!

My love for journalism began in the fourth grade when I started a newspaper, the St. Bernard Gazette, at school. We published a couple of issues before my staff decided they didn't want to stay inside for recess to work on it anymore.

I graduated from St. Cloud State University with a degree in mass communications, print journalism sequence, and a minor in communication studies. I met my husband Jay while working at St. Cloud State's student newspaper, the Chronicle. We have one child: a five-year-old named Faith, who is in Kindergarten. She loves school and is starting to read.

We have lived in Minnetonka since April. However, I grew up in Cologne (on Hwy. 212 a few miles past Chaska). I graduated from Central High School in Norwood Young America.

Before coming to Patch, I was the editor of two weekly newspapers. I spent two years as the editor of the Pine City Pioneer in Pine City before my company moved me to Cambridge to edit the Isanti-Chisago County Star for another two years.
