VIDEO: A Place For the Gifted at Minnetonka Schools

In its third year, the Navigator Program provides opportunities for high-potential students that classrooms traditionally do not.

“In my old classroom, there were some times when they thought that I was speaking some different type of alien language,” said Noah, a fifth-grader in Minnetonka Schools’ Navigator Program­. The program includes curriculum for exceptionally gifted children in grades two through five.

The Navigator Program, now in its third year, draws high-potetial students found through a screening process that includes teacher observation, parent and student input, classroom performance and standardized tests.

The program is offered at  and  elementary schools.
