League of Women Voters Hosts Candidate Forums

Upcoming forums include SD48 House and Senate, Hennepin County Commissioner and Parks Commissioner.

Hennepin County District 6 Commissioner and Hennepin County Park District 4 Commissioner

• Monday, Sept. 17 from 7-8:30 p.m., Council Chambers,

District 6 County Commissioner candidates and will participate in a candidate forum at 7 p.m. Written questions from the audience will be posed.

At 8 p.m., District 4 County Park Commissioner candidates and will present short statements of introductions only.

Following this, all four candidates will meet and greet individuals from the audience and answer their questions informally.

Minnesota Senate District 48 Senate and 48A and 48B House

• Thursday, Oct. 18 from 7-8:30 p.m., Council Chambers, Eden Prairie City Hall, 8080 Mitchell Road

All six candidates for state office in Minnesota Senate District 48 have been invited to this candidate forum. They are: David Hann and for Senate 48, and for House 48A and Jenifer Loon and Tori Hill for House 48B.

Written questions from the audience will be posed. In the event of an "empty seat" in which an opponent is missing, the lone attending candidate for the seat may not participate in the formal candidate forum. Instead, after the forum the room will be opened up for an informal meet and greet with all candidates present.

These events will be taped to be shown on a public service TV channel in the communities served by the districts. No unauthorized recording is allowed. All recording rights are property of LWV MEPH.
