Hwy. 169 Ramp Closures Start June 20

Motorists will encounter ramp closures to Highway 169 in Edina and Hopkins as crews continue rehabilitating the Nine Mile Creek, Excelsior Boulevard and 2nd Street Bridges as part of MnDOT’s Highway 169 Bridges Rehabilitation project.

Beginning after the evening rush hours on Thursday, June 20, the Bren Road ramp to northbound Highway169 and the 7th Street West (Interlachen Road) ramp to southbound Highway 169 will close.

In addition, the Excelsior Boulevard ramp in Hopkins to southbound Highway 169 will remain closed. Eastbound Excelsior Boulevard traffic will be detoured to Blake Road and Highway 7. Westbound motorists will be detoured to Shady Oak Road and to Highway 7. Weather permitting, the ramps will re-open in mid to late July.

Hwy. 169 has been reduced to a single lane in both directions between Hwys. 7 and 62 (Crosstown) since June 10 to allow for this bridge rehabilitation project. All lanes of Hwy. 169 are scheduled to re-open by mid- to late-July, weather permitting.
