During the investigation, police found blood in the SUV that appeared to be left by the perpetrator. The blood was collected and sent to the lab. A DNA profile, that is not expected to occur more than once in the world's population, was identified in April 2005.

On Aug. 10, 2012, a match was found between the DNA profile of the blood and Andrews. Now that Andrews' whereabouts are known, the court summons was requested.
