Burglars Target Vodka at Minnetonka Liquor Store

Police say the two men were found with 30 bottles of unopened liquor.

Two people were arrested after a burglary at Big Top Liquors in Minnetonka.

Gustry Lashawn Sailee, 35, of Minneapolis, and Saudi Askari-Habib Miller, 33, of Brooklyn Park, each face one count of third-degree felony burglary.

On Feb. 5 at 2:30 a.m., Minnetonka Police called to Big Top Liquors found the store's glass front door shattered.

Officers from the Coon Rapids Police Department and other agencies had been tracking two people they believed responsible for numerous liquor store burglaries. Officers say they watched two men drive in and out of the Big Top Liquor parking lot a half hour prior to the burglary.

Within minutes of the burglary, officers stopped Sailee and Miller on Highway 394 near Louisiana Avenue. Police say they saw glass fragments on the front passenger floor mat of their car. Officers also report finding plastic tubs containing 15 unopened bottles of Grey Goose vodka and 15 unopened bottled of Ciroc vodka. Police also say they found a large sledgehammer in the trunk.

If convicted, the charge carries up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
