Massive Line For Cities 97 Sampler in Minnetonka

People lined up past Great Tile on Thursday morning at Target in Minnetonka to buy the Cities 97 Sampler.

The line at the SuperTarget on Highway 7 and County Road 101 was longer than it's been in the past couple years. The store started with over 875 copies and were down to about 200 at 8:30 a.m. Target staff said they received double the amount of copies this year than last year.

Each store receives a limited number of copies out of the 40,000 total produced.

For it's 25th edition, the Cities 97 Sampler expands to two CDs. Each copy is priced at $32.97. The sale is expected to raise $1.2 million for Minnesota charities. 

Acts included on the sampler are Matchbox Twenty, Tristan Prettyman, Ed Sheeran, Matt Nathanson, Kopecky Family Band, Phillip Phillips, Vicci Martinez, Amos Lee, and Fitz and the Tantrums.
