While Macy's will consolidate it's two stores at Ridgedale Center, the mall will also gain a Nordstrom store.
Late last week, Macy’s announced the consolidation of its two separate stores in Minnetonka's Ridgedale Center into one expanded location beginning in early 2014.
The 129,000-square-foot Macy's Men's and Home store will close to be combined with its main Macy's store.
The main store will be expanded from 202,000 square feet to 286,000 square feet, with construction beginning this June.
In a separate announcement Friday morning, Seattle-based Nordstrom announced its plans to open a full-line store at Ridgedale Center.
The new store will be approximately 138,000 square feet and will open in fall 2015, according to the city of Minnetonka. The Ridgedale Center store will be Nordstrom’s second full-line store in Minnesota with the first located in the Mall of America.
The company also operates two Nordstrom Racks in the area, at Mall of America and at Arbor Lakes in Maple Grove.
