Minnetonka's Own Squinkies Make Happy Meal Fame

A line of toys made by Blip Toys will be featured in McDonald's Happy Meals for four weeks beginning Friday.

Squinkies have made it big time.

Minnetonka-based Blip Toys' line will be the featured girls’ toys in McDonald’s Happy Meals beginning Friday.

Blip Toys and McDonald’s have partnered to create 32 squishy toys made for the Happy Meal promotion. There are four different themes for the toys—zoo, fantasy, pets, and ocean—which feature elephants, kittens, mermaids and other creatures.

Squinkies, the thumbnail-size rubber characters, quickly . Since its launch in 2010, Squinkies have earned numerous awards and continue to be a white-hot collectable phenomenon.

Along with the Squinkies toys kids will receive mCodes, unique codes that can be used on HappyMeal.com to unlock virtual Squinkies Surprizes. The Happy Meal website will also feature a Squinkies matching game, hidden Squinkies characters and downloadable activities.

They will be available inside of McDonald’s Happy Meals until April 26.

Blip Toys was established in 2000. The current product line includes the Squinkies brand of collectable characters, Whimzy Pets, Zubber, Hair Balls, Zoom-O and Friends Boutique.
