Holidays and Eating Disorders tips

Each post this month I'm sharing "Holidays and Eating Disorders Tips" from professionals in the field, parents and fellow advocates.

Many families I coach and talk with on my facebook pages and at conferences tell me that this is NOT the “most wonderful time of the year.” Each post this month I’m sharing “Holidays and Eating Disorders Tips” from professionals in the field, parents and fellow advocates.

Today I was happy to see this great post on Psych Central from Margarita Tartakovsky, MS on her blog, “Weightless” titled, 4 Ways To Navigate The Holidays When You Have An Eating Disorder. This post is helpful for; the person with the eating disorder, and the family and friends to support your loved one in putting some of these tips into place. I love that Margarita shares the suggestion of Dr. Ovidio Bermudez to communicate with your treatment team.

Here is Margarita’s bio:

Unofficially, her writing career began in second grade when she composed her first-ever essay on Cinderella (her mom still has it!), several months after emigrating from Russia.

Officially, Margarita began freelancing after graduating with an MS in clinical psychology from Texas A&M University. There, she studied body image and disordered eating — subjects close to her heart.

She loves getting email from readers! So feel free to contact her at mtartakovsky at gmail dot com. Learn more about Margarita and her writing at her website. Follow her on Twitter @Mtartakovsky.

I’d love to hear how you and your loved one fighting an eating disorder are implementing some of these tips.  Your experiences will help others who are wondering if these really help.

Thanks again for reading and I always welcome comments.
