Donate Food, Get a Free Ride to a Twins Game

Metro Transit aims to fill two buses during "Food From Fans" this Sunday.

How much food can you fit in a city bus? Metro Transit is asking its customers and Twins fans to help find out on Sunday, April 15.

Metro Transit, with support from the Minnesota Twins, will host Food From Fans, an effort to stock the shelves of Second Harvest Heartland prior to the Sunday afternoon Twins game on April 15.

Customers can bring a non-perishable food item to one of two locations before the 1:10 p.m. Twins game:
• I-394 & Co. Rd. 73 Park & Ride lot in Minnetonka, served by Twins Express Route 679, which offers direct service to Target Field before every Twins home game.
• 28th Avenue Station in Bloomington, served by light rail

Each person donating food receives a coupon for a free ride to and from that day’s game. A Metro Transit bus will be parked at each location, waiting to be filled with Food From Fans and taken to Second Harvest Heartland.
