Hopkins football players are working in earnest to perfect their plays before the season begins.
The work began last week with conditioning, and players this week donned pads to run through drills, hone their teamwork and become experts at their positions.
The Royals’ varsity team starts play at 9 a.m. Saturday with a scrimmage against Minnetonka at Minnetonka High School. The first actual game is at 7 p.m. Aug. 23 at Chaska High School.
The junior varsity team’s first game is against Chaska at 10 a.m. Aug. 24 at home.
