Two Minnetonka Residents Involved in Plymouth Three-Vehicle Crash

State Patrol hasn't said how many were hurt. Two of the vehicles were totaled.

A 65-year-old Minnetonka man and a 58-year-old Minnetonka woman were among the four people were involved in a broadside crash at about 8 p.m. Sunday on Highway 55 in Plymouth.

The incident happened at Pinto Drive and Highway 55 when a 2008 Chevy Impala driven by Joseph P. Heffernan, of Greenfield, ran a red light while headed west on the highway, according to the State Patrol report.

Minnetonka residents Ward B. Gehant and Diane M. Gehant were on a 2008 Kawaski Road SRT motorcycle going south on Pinto Drive and turning onto eastbound Highway 55 when they were hit. There was also a 2011 Honda Fit driven by Wayzata resident Nancy L. Campbell at the same location.

The State Patrol has not said how many were seriously hurt or the extent of the injuries.

Both the Impala and the motorcycle were totaled, according to the State Patrol. The Fit had minor damage, according to the crash report.

The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office and State Patrol are investigating the incident.
