Mini-Hops Girls Competitive Gymnast Attend the Peppermint Twist

Hosted by Twin City Twister (Champlin, MN) and held at the Minneapolis convention center the Peppermint Twist Invitational brought gymnast as far as Iowa and Nebraska.  There were over 1800 gymnasts at the annual competition and is considered one of Minnesota’s largest gymnastics invitational.  With all the talent out there Mini-Hops started out strong with the level 3 team proving once again that they had what it takes to compete against the best.

Top score was Erica V. (Chanhassen), scored 9.650 on vault and tied for 10th , 9.150 on uneven bars and tied for 15th, 9.350 on beam and tied for 5th, 9.400 on floor and placed 2nd.  Her final score of 37.550 placed her 1st on all-around.

Sophia N. (Minnetonka), scored 9.650 on vault and tied for 10th, 8.950 on uneven bars and tied for 29th, 9.350 on beam and tied for 5th, 9.525 on floor and placed 1st.  Her final score of 37.475 placed her 2nd on all-around.

Keely A. (Plymouth), scored 9.450 on vault and tied for 25th, 9.475 on uneven bars and placed 1st, 9.100 on beam and tied for 12th, 9.250 on floor and placed 4th.  Her final score of 37.275 placed her 3rd on all-around.

AnaPaula A. (Maple Grove), scored 9.600 on vault and tied for 14th, 9.300 on uneven bars and tied for 7th, 9.400 on beam and tied for 3rd, 8.950 on floor tied for 16th.  Her final score of 37.250 placed her 4th on all-around.

Alissa W. (Corcoran), scored 7.850 on vault and placed 91st, 8.300 on uneven bars and tied for 67th, 9.000 on beam and tied for 18th, 8.250 on floor and tied for 64th.  Her final score of 33.400 placed her 76th on all-around.

Vesna D. (St. Louis Park), scored 7.800 on vault and placed 92nd, 8.900 on uneven bars and tied for 31st, 7.400 on beam and tied for 86th, 8.550 on floor and tied for 45th.  Her final score of 32.650 placed her 81st on all-around.

Overall team scored 113.400 to claim a 1st place trophy.

Ruby G. (Minneapolis) scored 8.500 and tied for 43rd on vault, did not competed on uneven bars, 8.250 and tied for 71st on beam, 8.600 and tied for 58th on floor.  Her final score was 25.350 and placed 88th on all-around.

Anna McG. (Plymouth) scored 7.100 and placed 89th on vault, 8.450 and placed 49th on uneven bars, 8.650 and tied for 46th on beam, did not compete on floor.  Her final score was 24.200 and placed 90th on all-around.

Team acquired a score of 108.600 to claim a 4th place trophy.

Mini-Hops Gymnastics Level 5 Girls Team

All gymnasts competed as a team, however individually competed against each other by age group for awards.  The brackets were (ages 9 and under, 10, 11, 12+).  The top three gymnasts’ scores on each event are compiled to total team scores.

Top score for the age 10 bracket was Page M. (Wayzata) scored 8.900 and tied for 13th on vault, 7.950 and tied for 26th on uneven bars, 8.300 and tied for 21st on beam, 9.200 and placed 5th on floor.  Her final score was 34.350 and placed 16th on all-around.

Isabella B. (age 10, Wayzata) scored 8.900 and tied for 14th on vault, 8.600 and tied for 8th on uneven bars, did not compete on beam, 9.175 and tied for 6th on floor.  Her final score was 26.675 and placed 27th on all-around.

Chantal X. (age 10, Plymouth) scored 9.225 and tied for 7th on vault, 8.050 and tied for 23rd on uneven bars, did not compete on beam, 9.175 and tied for 7th on floor.  Her final score was 26.450 and placed 28th on all-around.
