Minnetonka Man Charged with Threatening Woman with Knife

A Minnetonka man has been charged with brandishing a knife and threatening to kill a woman. Orlando Derrick Fields, 42, is charged with making terroristic threats, a felony with a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine. Minnetonka police were called to an apartment in the 5400 block of Smetana Road on Nov. 5 after someone reported an “out-of-control” man, punching and choking victims, according to the criminal complaint. When police arrived, they found Fields, screaming and swearing, being restrained by two women against a couch in the living room, with a third woman standing in the kitchen.
