A couple members of the Minnetonka School Board had to reach deep into their purses for tissue, after watching an anti-bullying video from the students at Clear Springs Elementary.
While watching an anti-bullying video, Minnetonka School Board Director Erin Adams and Vice Chair Lisa Wagner searched for tissues to wipe away tears during last Thursday night’s school board meeting. “It’s great to see how each school has taken the core message of bullying and made it their own,” said Wagner. Dressed in blue t-shirts printed with an anti-bullying message, leaders from Clear Springs Elementary Bullying Prevention Program showed the anti-bullying video, put together by students and staff. In the video, students act out instances of the types of bullying that can happen in today’s schools. “Appealing to twenty-first century students and learners, we really wanted it to leave a lasting impression and we feel we’ve come up …

"I'm their first contact, and it's pretty important that I am there for them at that moment,” Merle said about her role. “We've only got that one little moment in time to make our connection, and so I try to always keep very positive." First Impressions Director/Head Secretary is a position that Merle has held for 11 years. But come June 17, this Minnetonka school will have to appoint a new host. Merle is retiring. According to those in-the-know at Clear Springs, Merle will be someone hard—if not impossible—to replace. "She truly makes every interaction with every single person, whether that …
