Here are his seven tips for creating a great Thanksgiving meal: Tip 1: A free-range turkey is the top choice if you want a tender and flavorful bird. "Where turkeys are raised to be big and fat as quick as can be, the steroids used toughen up the meat," Walker said. Tip 2: Thawing a turkey is best done in a cooler or home refrigerator.
