The cafe focuses on organic food and will sell local or organic wines and beers.

A new People’s Organic Coffee and Wine Café will soon move into the former Creekside Coffee building. Plans for the café include outdoor seating and the potential for full-service dining.  Owner of the new restaurant, Jessica Hennesy, went before the Minnetonka City Council on Aug. 27 to explain the restaurant’s request for a liquor license. The license would be for on-sale wine and on-sale 3.2 percent malt liquor. Said Hennesy, “We saw this as a great opportunity in the location to bring in a restaurant that has natural, organic, fresh farm to table food in an environment that is more like a bistro environment versus just a coffee shop.” The restaurant will sell local or organic wines and beers. (Opinion) Resident Applauds Council Candidate Peggy Kvam

"Our city needs the diligent, responsive and reliable leadership that Peggy will provide."

To the editor: I applaud Peggy Kvam for stepping up to run for Minnetonka City Council. She is a small business owner who understands the many challenges unique to our local small businesses.    She is an engineer who has a thoughtful approach to solving problems. Her interest in our city is evident by her community involvement in the Minnetonka Research Restoration Project, her role as a Lead Election Judge, and her work with the League of Women Voters.  We are fortunate to live in such a great city, but we face many challenges. With Peggy as a council member citizens can be assured that she will approach the issues thoughtfully, and with regard to the concerns of the community. She believes in results, not politics. Our city needs the …

(Opinion) State Rep. Simon Supports Joe Bodell

Letter to the editor: State Rep. Steve Simon promotes candidate for Minnetonka City Council Joe Bodell.

Friend, My name is Steve Simon and I represent your neighboring communities, Hopkins and St. Louis Park, in the State Legislature.  Our communities work best for the people when elected officials work together, communicating well with each other across all levels of government. To that end, I am writing to urge you to support Joe Bodell in the upcoming special election for the Minnetonka City Council. Joe's awareness of the challenges and opportunities facing Minnetonka, Hopkins, St. Louis Park and the surrounding communities has inspired him to look for new solutions to keep our neighborhoods strong and retain the natural beauty of the area. I've known Joe Bodell since the 2006 election cycle, when we worked together on a gubernatorial …
