Tracey Anthony of Minnetonka is among the 52 candidates vying for a spot on the 20-woman 2013 Minnesota Vikings Cheerleader roster. Fans can vote for between three and 20 women they want to see on the 2013-14 Minnesota Vikings Cheerleader roster. Voting ends at 9 p.m. Wednesday, April 24.

Vikings ‘Love Boat’ to Sail the Iowa Great Lakes

An Okoboji, IA, marina has refurbished the boat and plans to use it for dinner cruises, weddings and more.

The infamous Vikings “Love Boat” has sailed into a new harbor. The Dickinson County News reported Wednesday that The Parks Marina and Okoboji Boat Works in Okoboji, IA, has refurbished the 1994 SkipperLiner houseboat and will cruise it on the Iowa Great Lakes this summer. The marina plans to use the boat for dinner cruises, weddings and more, according to the Spirit Lake, IA, paper. The so-called Love Boat scandal broke Oct. 6, 2005 when a woman reported that seven people had urinated in her yard. Investigators later alleged that 17 Vikings players—including Daunte Culpepper, Bryant McKinne, Fred Smoot and Moe Williams—were on a boat in which players engaged in public sexual activity with women on the ship while crusing Lake Minnetonka. …

Minnesota legislators are debating a new sales tax on licensed clothing, sports memorabilia and luxury suites to cover the state's share of Vikings stadium construction costs.

MN Legislature Plays Second Verse of Sad Stadium Song

The Minnesota Vikings’ quest for a stadium may have shed light on a larger issue: Who and what controls our state government?

I was a cub reporter back in 1998 when I first met Rep. Morrie Lanning, who was then the mayor of Moorhead and the head of Concorida College, a private school in that same community. Lanning and I were first introduced as my publication did a special magazine on Moorhead, highlighting its progress and development following the horrors of the 1997 Flood of the Century. Fast forward a few years, and Lanning was elected to the Minnesota House of Representatives. He stepped away from the campus, and headed down to St. Paul to tackle the issues. When I first saw him, he was excited to head to the Capitol. Now, as I watch on camera as the Republican from Moorhead try to march forward as chief author of a bill that would, in almost every sense, …

On Oct. 23, the Green Bay Packers beat the Minnesota Vikings, 33-27. Three weeks and one day later, the teams will face each other again during Monday Night Football.
