Student researchers at St. Mary's University say yes. Minnetonka Police Chief Mark Raquet isn't so sure.
Teenagers are infamous for it. Most responsible adults wouldn't want to admit to it. But now, should we add the state's police officers to the list of distracted drivers? A group of students from St. Mary's University (SMU) think so. But as Minnesota law stands, Minnetonka doesn’t have that right. Nor does any other Minnesota city. While state offices, churches, public schools, private …

No law prohibiting peaceable citizens from carrying anywhere will achieve its alleged purpose, i.e. to prevent a loony toon from snapping and shooting up the place. The whole premise is facially illogical. Why should peaceable citizens be regulated thus, when it is not they who are the problem? Anybody who aspires to a government position should have to prove that they understand and respect both…   more ›
