Kids say hooray to Hopkins-Minnetonka Recreation Services for a fun winter Sunday.
Does the under-10 crowd know where city law is made? Probably not. Do they know where they first experienced a backward somersault? Most likely. The city of Minnetonka's Council Chambers was tranfromed Sunday into something a child can relate to, a tumbling experience from Mini-Hops Gymnastics. During Kid's Fest, hosted by Hopkins-Minnetonka Recreation Services, everything about Minnetonka's City Hall was transformed into something fun and kid-friendly. Hopkins-Minnetonka Recreation Services hosts Kids’ Fest Sunday, Feb. 12, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Minnetonka Civic Center Campus. All activities are free and include dog sled rides, bingo with prizes, magic shows, face painting, ice sculpture demonstrations, s’mores by the fire, crafts, entertainment, open swimming, ice skating and indoor playground time at the Williston Treehouse and more. For ease of parking, a free van shuttle will run every 15 minutes among the three facilities at which activities take place: the Minnetonka Community Center, the Ice Arena and Williston Fitness Center in Minnetonka.
