Minnetonka Girls Finish 10th at State Swim Meet

Skippers earn 65.5 points in weekend Class AA swimming and diving championships.

The Minnetonka girls swimming and diving team didn't send a large team to the state swim meet like Lake Conference title contenders Edina and Eden Prairie. Instead, the smaller Skippers team focused on enjoying the experience. "Our expectations are not as high as some teams this year, but we are doing pretty well and having a lot of fun," said senior Katie Friedlander, who competed in two individual and two relay events at the state swimming and diving championships over the weekend at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center in Minneapolis. Friedlander ended her high school swimming career by finishing 14th in her two individual events, the 200-yard individual medley (2:11.03) and 100-yard freestyle (53.29). Friedlander and teammates …
