Minnetonka's Public Works is in charge of maintaining the city's infrastructure through seven divisions: naturalMore resources and forestry, garbage and recycling, parks and trails, water and sewer utilities, streets, buildings, and fleet. Public Works consists of 60 full-time staff and 26 seasonal part-time staff. Public Works is responsible for  maintaining five community parks and 37 neighborhood parks, the city's 81-mile trail system, 10 miles of sidewalk and 253 miles of local streets. Together with Hopkins, Minnetonka Public Works manages a self-service recycling drop-off center. This center is accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week, year-round, and is located at the Minnetonka Public Works Facility.

Mills Church has been aMore long-standing member of the Minnetonka Mills neighborhood dating back to 1898, and Small World Preschool shares this distinguished history, educating children in Minnetonka since the 1970s. Children here learn through age-appropriate play and exploration with books, blocks, puppets, paper and toys. Classes are offered in two sections: Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., and Tuesday and Thursday  from 9:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. You may opt to have your child go to both sections. Children must be three years old and potty-trained to attend.

Mini-Tonka Park is a small neighborhood park located at the intersection of Tonkawood Road and Lake StreetMore Extension. Minnetonka residents often call it "water tower park,"  or the "tot lot." Park features include a fenced-in play structure and picnic tables. 
Oakhaven Park

At under three acres, Oakhaven is a moderate-size residential park. Amenities include two children's play areas, a basketball court, a mini picnic shelter with table, and concrete walkways that make the park handicap accessible.

The library amenities include 14 computer workstations and a collection of Chinese children's books. Programs offered at the library include baby storytime, family storytime, kids book club and preschool singalong. Minnetonka Library is part of the Hennepin County library system. HCLS's collection consists of more than 5 million books, CDs and DVDs in 40 world languages and 1,750 public computers. The system serves the 1.1 million residents of Hennepin County, MN.

Clear Springs Elementary students also have the option of Spanish Immersion beginning in kindergarten.

Two hot lunch choices are offered each day; meals are planned in accordance with requirements of the federal school lunch guidelines. For children in need of before- and/or after-school care, Explorer's Club is offered for grades K-5.  Hours are 6:45 a.m. until school starts and after school until 6 p.m.

It can be accessed from either Victoria Street or Wilson Street.More The park has an upper level with picnic tables and a lower level with a play area, tennis court and basketball court. The play areas are extensive, one for toddlers and one for older children. And there is some distance between the jungle gyms for younger and older kids.
