It has a football/soccer field, a softball field, an outdoor hockey rink, three tennis courts, horseshoes, a walking path and a jungle gym that tots and older kids will love. Don't forget to pack a lunch—there are plenty of places for it, including a picnic pavilion next to the kids' play area.
Boulder Creek Park

Located just south of Excelsior Boulevard, Boulder Creek Park is a small, neighborhood park with big outdoor amenities.More The park features a lighted athletic field, an outdoor hockey rink, a general skating rink,  picnic shelter and playground suitable for toddlers and older kids. No chalk needed - the basketball court has hopscotch and four square painted on the ground. At Boulder Creek Park, you also can find handicapped accessible walking and biking trails. If that's not enough, there is a canoe landing for the boaters.
Minnetonka Ice Arena

It's estimated that 260,000 people use the Minnetonka Ice Arena every year. Throughout the year, the city offersMore public skating hours, skating lessons, and adult hockey at the Minnetonka Ice Arena. It's home to the Lake Minnetonka Figure Skating Club, Hopkins and Minnetonka Youth Hockey Associations. Also, the high school hockey programs from both Minnetonka and Hopkins School Districts use the Minnetonka Ice Arena as their practice and game facility. Lessons are available for skaters of all ages and abilities. Want to try a workout on the ice? Try the Fit & Trim program every Wednesday at 9:30am.

Public Skating Schedule (September 7, 2010–April 28, 2011): Sun, 2:30pm - 4pm; Tue, 11:30am - 1pm; Wed, 11:30am - 1pm; Thu, 11:30pm - 1pm; Fri, 7:30pm - 9pm. 

Adult admission is $4, students/pre-k/senior admission is $3, skate rental is $2

If you are learning to skate, or your children are going through growth spurts, Hanus Sports offers an affordable rental program for an annual fee. Skate brands you will find at Hanus Sports include Bauer, Easton, CCM, Reebok and Riedell. Lettering decal and embroidery on jerseys and jackets is also done here. Hanus Sports is located in Sterling Center on the corner of County Road 101 and Minnetonka Boulevard.
