Suspected Heroin Dealer Added to Most Wanted List

Devon McFerrin is accused of selling a Hopkins man the heroin that killed him.

The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office has added a suspected Minneapolis drug dealer to its Top Ten Most Wanted List, the agency announced Friday. Devon McFerrin, 31, is accused of selling a Hopkins man the heroin that killed him following a February 2012 overdose. The County Attorney’s Office has charged McFerrin with third-degree murder, a charge in which the selling of drugs results in someone’s death. It’s believed that this is the first case of its kind to be featured on the Top Ten Most Wanted List. “We want to send a strong message to heroin dealers and drug dealers that we will not tolerate anyone selling deadly and illegal narcotics on our streets and in our communities,” a news release quoted Hennepin County Sheriff Rich Stanek. “…

The trouble with all of these low-life criminals is that they have been arrested and convicted multiple times, and they are let out to continue their mayhem. This state needs a three-strikes-and-your-out law to put these people away for good. But you ask, who will pay for the costs of incarceration? Man Charged With Crime in Minnetonka From 2004

In August 2004, blood was collected from the scene. Now that a DNA match has been found, the suspect is charged with theft.

A Richfield man is charged for an incident that happened in 2004. A court summons was issued last week for Daniel Isaac Andrews, now 29, on a felony theft charge. In August 2004, Minnetonka Police took a report of theft from Birch Lane. The owner of a computer rental company said he'd parked his SUV in his driveway at night. In the morning, he found one of the windows broken and a large amount of computer gear stolen, including five laptops. The owner's insurance company settled the owner's claim of loss for over $8,000. During the investigation, police found blood in the SUV that appeared to be left by the perpetrator. The blood was collected and sent to the lab. Women Charged With Filling Their Purses at Macy's

Three women allegedly exited a fitting room with noticeably bigger purses and nothing in their hands.

Three Minneapolis women were charged with felony theft over $1,000 after allegedly shoplifting from Macy's. Juanita Lashon Wilson, 25; Terri Lynette Sisson, 24; and Raven Denise Hampton, 21, each face one count of theft. On Dec. 2, 2012, Minnetonka Police responded to a reported theft at the Macy's store at Ridgedale Center in Minnetonka. Store staff said the women were carrying large purses that appeared to be empty and selecting items without regard for price or size. The women allegedly exited a fitting room with noticeably bigger purses and nothing in their hands. As the women exited the mall with Macy's staff pursuing them, one purse full of Macy's merchandise was dropped, according to the complaint. The women got into a waiting car …

Minnetonka Ranks 12th in Speeding Tickets Per Capita

Endangerment Charge Dismissed for Mom Who Left 6 yo Alone to Go Drink

Jillian Rae Neimeyer pleaded guilty Thursday to drunken driving.

A Minnetonka woman who left her 6-year-old alone all night so she could go out drinking pleaded guilty to drunken driving Thursday and had a gross misdemeanor child-endangerment charge dismissed, the Star Tribune reported. A Hennepin County District Court sentenced 26-year-old Jillian Rae Neimeyer to 30 days in the workhouse—but stayed the sentence for two years. On Dec. 1 at about 8 a.m., Minnetonka Police were called to Hunters Ridge Apartments to investigate a case of child neglect. They met a woman who said that a 6-year-old boy had come to her apartment that morning claiming that "mommy was gone." The Minnesota Department of Public Safety has a new tool when it comes to deterring drunken driving: Twitter. On Friday night, there will be 150 squads patrolling major corridors in the Twin Cities’ largest-ever, one-night, coordinated DWI enforcement effort. But this effort isn’t notable just because of its size; it will also offer Minnesotans the chance to follow along via Twitter. The Department of Public Safety (@MnDPS_OTS) will tweet the age and gender of those arrested for DWI using the hashtag #May10DWI. Too busy to follow along in real time? Perfume Pirate Charged in String of Thefts

Police say Melissa Lynn Koenig admitted to stealing from multiple metro area stores after being arrested in Minnetonka.

A White Bear Lake woman has been charged with felony theft of over $5,000 after police say she is stole numerous bottles of fragrance from four different stores, including Ulta Beauty and JC Penney in Minnetonka. Melissa Lynn Koenig, 36, was arrested at JC Penney in Minnetonka on April 23. According to the criminal complaint, police officers responded to a theft report at Ulta Beauty in Richfield on March 11. An employee reported that a 5-foot, white female with strawberry blonde hair and glasses entered the store on both March 8 and March 9. The employee said the female grabbed some items and left the store without attempting to pay for any items on March 8. The employee said the suspect returned on March 9 and left the store without …
