Minnetonka Presents Oliver!: This Weekend in Minnetonka

Oliver!, the Charles Dickens class with a holiday "twist," opens this weekend at Minnetonka Theatre. Running on the Arts Center on 7 Main Stage from Dec. 7-15, this beloved family friendly classic will follow up the previous sold out holiday productions of Annie and The Sound of Music.

Dates: Dec. 7, 13 and 14 at 7:30 p.m./Dec. 8, 14 and 15 at 1 p.m./Dec. 15  at 5 p.m.

Tickets: $20 Adult, $16 Senior (65+), $14 Youth (under 18)

Celebrate the birth of Christ with a “simulcast" event as Knollwood Christian Community Church (3639 Quebec Avenue South in St. Louis Park) hosts the second annual Women of Faith Christmas on Friday, Dec. 6 beginning at 6 p.m.

Be a part of a special celebration where community members will share stories and songs that bring the wonder of Christmas to life. You will enjoy hearing noted Bible teachers, Sheila Walsh and Lisa Harper. Gain a new perspective on the season as best-selling author and pastor Max Lucado helps discover the gift that holiday hassles cannot take away, and hear a story of hope and purpose from Pastor Rick Warren. 

This is a free event. Bring a non-perishable food item for S.T.E.P.

Dance: 'The Companion: Ruth & Naomi's Story'

The Companion: Ruth & Naomi's Story, is a dramatic dance performance depicting the Biblical Story of Ruth, played by Sophia Hiltner, and Naomi, played by Naomi Muhs. The story reflects how God uses relationships to reveal his love, mercy, grace and redemption. This dance performance is meant as a message to emphasize the importance of recognizing and trusting those who trust in the Lord. 

The performances are at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7 and 2 p.m. on Sunday. Dec. 8 at Mound Westonka High School (5905 Sunnyfield Rd East in Mound).• $5 Donation at the Door
• Don't miss the Silent Auction and Bake Sale 4:30-6 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7.
