Also: Ice rink volunteers are need, and Holly Henry returns to 'The Voice.'

Route controversies may have slowed the Southwest Light Rail Transit line, but Minnetonka and Hopkins officials are hard at work continuing planning for development associated with the project and the upcoming Shady Oak Road expansion.

Members of both city councils will get together for a joint study session Tuesday to discuss current plans for the Shady Oak Station, the status of the Shady Oak Road project, redevelopment in the area and more.

The meeting will offer leaders of the communities a chance to spell out there priorities for the area and ask questions.

  • Ice rink volunteers needed: Minnetonka is looking for volunteers to staff park warming houses. The city has used volunteers since 2006 to expand the operating hours beyond regularly scheduled hours. Volunteers open and secure their assigned building, operate rink lighting, complete required forms and regularly communicate with the Recreation Services Department. To volunteer, contact the Recreation Services office at 952.939.8203 or email Dave Johnson at djohnson@eminnetonka.com. Application information can be found on the Volunteers page.
  • Holly Henry returns to The Voice?: No one has announced a specific time for when Hopkins grad Holly Henry will perform again on The Voice, but a cryptic message on her Facebook page suggests fans will see her again this week. On Sunday night, Henry wrote, “This will be an exciting week [=” She’s set to perform in the knockout rounds. She and the other artists will be paired with members of their own teams—but only find out minutes before performing who they’re going to compete against. Unlike the battle rounds, they select their own songs and try to wow the coaches. The losing artists are sent home. The Voice airs Mondays at 7 p.m. and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on NBC.
