Eat Out at Maynards To Support Booster Club

Also this week: Observe Veterans Day at Minnetonka schools and get some Spanish spirit at Fiesta del Otoño.

On Monday night, you can dine out at Maynards in Excelsior to support The Minnetonka Skippers Booster Club.

The club is celebrating 40 years of supporting co-curricular activities in Minnetonka. Join them Monday, Nov. 11 beginning at 4 p.m. Reservations are recommended by calling (952) 470-1800.

Maynards is donating part of the evening's proceeds to the cause.

Veterans Day

Minnetonka Schools will celebrate Veterans Day with three events taking place in the schools on Monday, Nov. 11.

• Excelsior Elementary – 9:15 a.m.

This annual event has 4th grade students singing, reading poetry and presenting the colors.

• Deephaven Elementary – 1:15p.m.

Veterans will visit students in classrooms starting around 12:45, then move into the gym for an all-school program.  Students will sing patriotic songs and present the colors.

• Minnetonka High School – 1:50 p.m.

The entire MHS student body will attend a program in the West Gym that will honor Veterans.  Scheduled speakers include U.S. Representative Erik Paulsen and Merrilee Carlson.  

Fiesta del Otoño

The 6th annual Fiesta del Otoño will take place at Minnetonka High School on Friday, Nov. 15 from 5:30-8 p.m. The evening will end with a traditional sing-along at 7:50 p.m.    

This free event gives teachers, community volunteers and students the opportunity to showcase various Spanish traditions with live entertainment, music, food, crafts, and activities for the entire family. New this year, elementary students will perform musical and dance numbers.
