Twins fever has hit some locals a little bit early this year. About 100 adults with disabilities from Minnetonka’s spent the last week rolling, banding and boxing 40,000 official Minnesota Twins schedule posters.
Those posters will be given out to the first 20,000 fans at games April 12 and 13, when the Twins take on the Kansas City Royals at Target Field.
“We are delighted to be working with the Minnesota Twins on the promotional poster,” said Opportunity Partners President & CEO George Klauser. “It’s a thrill for our clients – many of whom are huge baseball fans—to play a role in the Twins’ upcoming season.”
At least one of the rollers even wore a Twins T-shirt for the rolling work, and throughout the poster preparation, many of the adults here commented on how much they love baseball and the Minnesota Twins.
Opportunity Partners is a Minnetonka-based nonprofit that offers employment and training to 1,500 people with disabilities every year. Specifically, the organization provides local businesses with contracted work teams or individual candidates for jobs—in this case poster rolling.
According to Opportunity Partners, providing this meaningful work proves that everyone, when given the opportunity, adds value to our world.
“This is a great example of how the community and businesses benefit from providing work opportunities to people with disabilities,” Klauser said.
