Residents of the Cedar Pass neighborhood had already earned a reputation for generosity during Minnetonka Night for Neighbors. The 657 pounds of food that residents collected won the neighborhood first place in this year’s Night for Neighbors food drive.
But their generosity didn’t stop there.
Although they won gift certificates for 20 Chipotle burritos, they didn’t eat the burritos. Instead, they donated the gift certificates to ICA Food Shelf. The organization will use the certificates at the Taste of the Lakes silent auction.
Cedar Pass residents weren’t the only ones to show generosity at the Aug. 6 event. Minnetonka residents donated 7,346 pounds of food to ICA this year—bringing the total for past five years to 36,000 pounds of food.
