TOP TEN REASON #5: Sugar Causes Inflammation

Inflammatory enzymes are elevated on higher-sugar diets. Inflammation is at the heart of 98% of all disease.

This is not something I am making up. This subject made the cover of TIME magazine in February 2004. The article was titled INFLAMMATION: THE SILENT KILLER. It proceeded to link all kinds of "New Millennium Diseases" with global inflammation in the cells and tissues.

When cells become inflamed, the proper nutrition cannot get in and the waste cannot get out. This congests the cell and causes malfunction of many kinds. It can clog up the mitochondria ( the power source of the cell) and cause fatigue. It can interfere with the DNA replication of the nucleus leading to many types of issues, tumors being just one. Inflamed cells of the blood vessels can decrease the lumen (opening) the blood flows through. This decreased capacity for blood flow will increase blood pressure.

Inflammation goes hand in hand with acidity (reason #4). Together they make a deadly cocktail. Yet another good reason to stay away from sugar, or anything that turns into sugar, in order to prevent yourself from becoming a 'STATISTIC'. Avoiding sugar is certainly not easy, but well worth the effort!
