Highway 169 Bridge Work Starts Monday

Crews will be repairing bridges in Hopkins and Edina.

Drivers on Highway 169 can expect about a month of delays between Highway 7 and Highway 62 starting Monday.

The $3.5 million project involves the repair the decks, beams and guardrails on the Nine Mile Creek, Excelsior Boulevard and Second Street bridges. Both directions on Highway 169 will be reduced to a single lane beginning Monday. Should re-open by mid to late July, depending on weather.

Some of the bridge ramps will be closed during the project. The Excelsior Boulevard ramp in Hopkins to southbound Highway 169 will close Monday. Eastbound Excelsior Boulevard traffic will be routed to Blake Road and Highway 7. Westbound drivers will be detoured to Shady Oak Road and Highway 7.

In mid to late June, the Seventh Street West (Interlachen Road) ramp in Edina to southbound Highway 169 and the Bren Road ramp to northbound Highway 169 will close. Drivers will also see the closure of the Excelsior Boulevard Ramp to northbound Highway 169. The detour will go to Highway 169 and Highway 7.
