Yvonne Selcer is paying her supporters with our money!

Why are the Democrates creating a mandatory school pool that will cost the tax payers millions in lost revenue? Well, to pay back Education Minnesota of course!

The state has borrowed more than $700 million from the schools over the last two years. The new legislature, including Yvonne Selcer, has promised many reforms and initiatives to improve the quality of education provided in Minnesota, a noble effort indeed.

Yet, somehow, while looking to fund this dignified initiative to improve our schools, our DFL-led legislature is also attempting to pass legislation to create a health insurance pool for Education Minnesota. The insurance pool for Education Minnesota would require a loan of $300 million from the State. So while the state is busy borrowing from our local school districts to pay for an already-bloated budget, the legislature believes it's reasonable to loan out money so Education Minnesota (a private group) can finance their own insurance pool.

One might think increasing school funding or paying back some of the money our school districts have already loaned to the state might be a greater priority than funding an insurance pool for the private union that represents the teachers. It is hard to imagine that the state is willing to loan out $300 million to aid the efforts of a private union's insurance fund rather than dedicate those funds as part of initiative to actually educate our students, but that's exactly what the DFL is doing. And why this private group? Can other private organizations also get this preferential treatment? Can you imagine the uproar if a conservative group was given such a benefit?

It's clear that Selcer and the DFL have only one priority - repaying the special interests that spent our tax dollars to elect them to office. It's payback time and the DFL is opening up our pocketbooks to pay back their cronies. And Yvonne Selcer is writing the checks.
