Weather Postpones Numerous Hopkins, Minnetonka Games

Thursday will be a quiet night for high school sports fans.

The ongoing bad weather has forced Hopkins and Minnetonka teams to postpone or cancel most competitions Thursday, as well as some later in the week.

Nine of 10 Hopkins games on Thursday were canceled—leaving only the synchronized swimming varsity meet, which is still scheduled to take place at 4 p.m. at St. Louis Park High School.

  • Boys JV tennis vs. Blake: Rescheduled for April 22
  • Boys varsity tennis vs. Blake: Rescheduled for April 22
  • Varsity baseball vs. Burnsville: Rescheduled for April 30
  • Baseball 10 vs. Burnsville: Rescheduled for April 30
  • JV baseball vs. Burnsville: Rescheduled for April 30
  • Softball B vs. Burnsville: Rescheduled for an unspecified date
  • Varsity softball: Rescheduled for an unspecified date
  • JV softball: Rescheduled for an unspecified date

Baseball 9 has been canceled altogether.

In addition, Friday’s baseball games and the girls golf invitational on Friday and Saturday have been postponed.

For Minnetonka teams, just five matchups have been postponed, as of Thursday morning:

  • JV baseball vs. Bloomington Jefferson: Rescheduled for April 15
  • Baseball 10 vs. Bloomington Jefferson: Rescheduled for April 15
  • Baseball 9a vs. Bloomington Jefferson: Rescheduled for an unspecified date
  • Baseball 9b vs. Bloomington Jefferson: Rescheduled for an unspecified date
  • Varsity baseball vs. Bloomington Jefferson: Rescheduled for April 15

The girls JV track and field meet has been canceled altogether.

The boys JV track and field meet and softball and adapted softball games are currently still scheduled to take place. Patch will update this article if that changes.

Minnetonka has not yet officially canceled any match-ups later in the week.
