State Hockey: Minnetonka Plays Eagan

The Minnetonka girls hockey team begins their run at the State Tournament on Thursday at 6 p.m.

Defending their 2011 Class AA State Hockey title, the top-seeded Minnetonka High School girls hockey team plays their first state tournament game today against Eagan.

The battle begins Thursday at 6 p.m. at the Xcel Energy Center. Click here for the tournament bracket.

With a 2-1 win against Benilde-St. Margaret's in the Hockey 6AA Championship on Friday, Feb. 17, the Skippers moved on to the state tournament. Minnetonka's Diana Draayer put in the puck to win during overtime.

Roseville is the No. 2 seed and will play Grand Rapids/Greenway on Thursday at 11 a.m.

If Minnetonka wins, they play again on Friday at 8 p.m. The championship game is Saturday at 7 p.m.
