Sports Roundup: Skippers Run In Apple Valley
With boys competing in Roy Griak Invite, Minnetonka girls cross-country took part in Eagle Invitational on Saturday.
As the Minnetonka boys cross-country team ran at the Roy Griak Invite on Saturday, the Skipper girls instead competed in the Eagle Invitational on a picturesque day for a jog.
Minnetonka Girls Cross-Country
Lucy Hoelscher's 11th-place individual finish of 15 minutes, 28 seconds over four kilometers led the Minnetonka girls cross-country team to a seventh-place result at the Eagle Invite in Apple Valley.

Contributing to the placement were: Maggie Carruth (16:07) in 32nd, Anna Meiusi (16:24) in 32nd, Abbey Brodeur (16:46) in 51st and Anne Daly (16:48) in 54th. Bebe Weller (16:50, 50th) and Alexandra Hitt (17:14, 71st) also ran for the Skippers.

Two goals from Ellie Crowell and three saves by goalkeeper Lizzie Crist drove the Minnetonka girls soccer team to a 2-0 shutout of fourth-ranked Wayzata that boosted the squad to 7-2-3 overall and 1-2-2 in the Lake Conference.
The Skippers also blanked Roseville, 6-0, last Saturday, and have three games remaining in the regular season.
Minnetonka Boys Soccer
After a 2-2 tie against Roseville last Saturday, the Minnetonka boys soccer team was blanked, 6-0, by Wayzata on Tuesday to fall to 3-7-3 overall and 0-3-2 in the Lake.
Marcus Speca leads the Skippers with five goals, followed by James Pickering with four goals this autumn.
Minnetonka Volleyball
The Minnetonka volleyball team lost 3-2 to seventh-ranked Wayzata on Tuesday to drop the Skippers to 12-6 overall and 1-3 in the Lake.
Renee Hoffman leads Minnetonka with 117 kills, 348 assists and 25 service aces, as Laura Herman's 173 digs also top the team.

The Minnetonka girls tennis team defeated Blake, 5-2, on Monday. Individual statistics were not made available.
Hopkins Girls Soccer
Eight saves from goalkeeper Jenny Grahek made Jillaine DeYoung's lone tally stand as the Hopkins girls soccer team stunned third-ranked Eden Prairie on its own field on Tuesday.
The victory boosted the Royals' unbeaten streak to three games as the squad improve to 4-3-6 overall and 1-1-4 in conference play.

Eden Prairie handed the Hopkins boys soccer team its fourth loss in five games by topping the Royals, 2-0, on Tuesday. Individual statistics were not made available.
