Skippers Swim and Dive Ties Wayzata
Minnetonka girls swim and dive team came back to tie Wayzata 93 to 93 at a dual meet late Thursday afternoon in Plymouth.
The Minnetonka Skippers swim and dive team came back to tie Wayzata 93-93 with a split second victory in the final race.
The two teams went back and forth all afternoon and the outcome depended on the 400-yard relay. The Skippers narrowly beat the Trojans with a time of 3:35.15 to 3:35.35 which gave them enough points for the tie. Other notable achievements for Minnetonka included:
- Junior Amelia Schilling and Senior Sarah Mahoney placed first and second respectively in the 200-yard Freestyle with times of 1:59.62 and 2:00.55
- Sophomore Isabel Wyer took first in the 200yd IM with a time of 2:11.54 and first in the 100-yard Freestyle with a time of 52.78
- Juniors Carolyn and Liz Kane placed second and third in the 50-yard Freestyle with times of 24.64 and 24.82.
- Junior Amelia Schilling, Freshman Delaney Ambrosen, and Senior Sarah Mahoney finished top three in the 500-yard freestyle with times of 5:17.53, 5:20.09, and 5:20.63.
- Varsity A and B placed first and second in the 200-yard freestyle relay with times of 1:40.75 and 1:41.87
