Skippers Inch Closer To Postseason

Minnetonka teams beginning to see the end of the regular season in their sights.

The spring sports campaign pushed closer to its conclusion as Minnetonka teams continued to jostle for preferred sectional seeding.

Boys Lacrosse: Skippers Lose For First Time This Season

The Minnetonka boys lacrosse team lost for the first time this season in an 11-5 setback at Blake on Saturday.

Five different Skippers scored in the loss as Teddy O'Reilly, Chase Leinberger, Chase Fisher, Connor Gatenby and Stewart Utter all logged one goal apiece.

Girls Lacrosse: Skippers Up Record To 8-1

With blowout wins of 19-7 over Breck on Friday and 20-8 versus Wayzata on Monday, the Minnetonka girls lacrosse team improved to 8-1 on the season. For a full photo gallery of that game, click . 

Holly Korn leads the Skippers with 21 goals this spring, followed by Hilary Duda with 20 goals, Abbey Brodeur with 16 goals and Julia Dales with 11 goals.

Baseball: Minnetonka Improves To 13-1

The Minnetonka baseball team topped Hopkins, 8-4, on Monday to improve its overall record to 13-1 and 6-1 in the Lake Conference.

Individual statistics were not available. The Skippers also defeated Wayzata (6-5) on Friday, as well as Grand Rapids (9-8) and Totino-Grace (9-2) on Saturday.

Softball: Skippers Fall To 5-9

A 2-0 win over Edina on Thursday followed by losses to Wayzata (9-2) and Hopkins (7-3) on Friday and Monday, respectively, put the Minnetonka softball team's record at 5-9 overall and 3-6 in the Lake. Individual statistics were not available.

Girls Golf: Minnetonka Wins Tiebreaker On Thursday

The Minnetonka girls golf team won a tie-breaker after finishing in a 203-203 deadlock with Hopkins on Thursday at the Minnetonka Country Club. Individual statistics were not available.

Boys Golf: Edina 219, Minnetonka 227

The Minnetonka boys golf team fell, 219-227, to Edina in a Lake dual meet on Thursday at Interlachen. Individual statistics were not available.

Boys Tennis: Skippers Sweep Elk River Tournament

With a sweep of its three-match set, the Minnetonka boys tennis team won the Elk River Tournament on Saturday.

The Skippers defeated Duluth East and Monticello by identical 7-0 scores, then topped Elk River by a 4-3 count to take the title. Individual statistics were not available.

Track And Field: Minnetonka Boys, Girls Second At Wayzata Relays

The Minnetonka track and field teams both finished second to their hosts at the Wayzata Relays on Saturday. The Skippers girls recorded 144.5 points, the boys earned 158 points. Individual results were not available.
