Skippers Girls Golf, Softball Suffer Narrow Losses

Light varsity schedule for Minnetonka on Tuesday and Wednesday.

There weren't many sports on the Minnetonka varsity schedule over the past two days, with the Skippers girls golf and softball teams both coming up just short in their respective competitions.

Softball: Stillwater 7, Skippers 5

A seven-run second inning doomed the Minnetonka softball to a 7-5 defeat in the east metro on Wednesday night.

The Skippers rallied hard, with five runs scored from the fourth through seventh innings, yet the surge fell short as Minnetonka dropped to 2-3 on the season.

Next up for the Skippers is a home game against Lakeville North on Thursday at 4:15 p.m. in the squad's final game of the week.

Girls Golf: Skippers 189, Edina 188

The Minnetonka girls golf team fell to Lake Conference rival Edina by a single stroke, 189-188, on Tuesday.

Individual results were not available. The Skippers are scheduled to play in a tournament at the Chaska Town Course next Monday.
