Skippers' Football Season Ends in Heartbreak
The Minnetonka Skippers lost a thriller 6-3 to Eden Prairie.
The Minnetonka Skippers' football season came to a heartbreaking end with a 6-3 loss in the Section 6 AAAAA championship game to the Eden Prairie Eagles on Friday night at Eden Prairie.
The Skippers led 3-0 on the strength of a Preston Jasper field goal until 3:42 remaining in the game, when Eagles runningback Andrew Larson scampered in for a touchdown.
The Skippers finished the season at 8-3 overall. The Eden Prairie Eagles improve to 9-1 on the year and advance to the Minnesota State Class AAAAA tournament beginning next Friday, Nov. 11 against Anoka.
