Plummer Wins Silver Medal at World Swimming Championships

The Minnetonka swim coach finished with a time of 53.12 in the 100-meter backstroke.

After swimming to within a heartbeat of a place on the U.S. Olympic team last year, David Plummer showed the swimming world that he’s still a force to be reckoned with.

The Minnetonka swim coach, who trains at the Minnetonka Aquatics Center, won a silver medal Tuesday in the 100-meter backstroke at the World Championships in Barcelona, Spain. His time of 53.12 seconds was just .19 seconds behind Matt Grevers, who won the gold medal at the 2012 London Olympics.

Plummer will have a chance to win another medal in the relay events later in the competition.
