Minnetonka's Tebon, Richards Finish Up At State Tennis Tourney
The Skippers duo each lost to Apple Valley's Matt Bettes on Friday at the Class AA tournament
A pair of Minnetonka boys tennis players finished up their seasons on Friday at the Class AA state tournament.
Senior Michael Tebon lost in the consolation championship at the University of Minnesota Baseline Tennis Center, while freshman Joey Richards lost in the consolation semifinals.
Tebon opened up the day with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Wayzata’s Dustin Britton in the consolation semifinals. He then lost to Apple Valley’s Matt Bettes 7-6 (8-6), 6-4 in the consolation finals.

Bettes advanced to the consolation championship thanks to a 6-1, 6-4 win over Richards in the consolation semifinals.
Tebon finished the tournament 2-2 overall, while Richards finished with a 1-2 record.
