Minnetonka Tennis Team Wins Silver at State Championship

The Edina Hornets beat the Skippers 7-0 on Wednesday.

The Minnetonka High School girls tennis team was close enough to smell the state title.

However, Edina took the win 7-0 in the Class AA State Tennis Tournament Wednesday making the Hornets the winners of 16 straight titles.

The Hornets defeated Rochester Century 6-1 Wednesday morning in the semifinals of the Class 2A state tournament, while Minnetonka got past Prior Lake, 4-3.

The Hornets came into the tournament ranked No. 1 while the Skippers were ranked No. 3 in the state. Minnetonka ended their season with a 15-4 record.
