Minnetonka Swimmers Stay In State Contention
The Skippers had two top seed finishes at Saturday's state prelims and look poised at a run at Saturday's title
The Minnetonka boys swimming and diving team put itself in strong position to compete for a state championship at Friday’s Class AA preliminary meet.
The Skippers used the fast pool at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center to their advantage, sending 12 individuals or relays to Saturday’s championship heat and recording two top seed finishes on the day.
The state finals will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Aquatic Center.

Zach Stettner led the way for the Skippers, finishing the 200 freestyle with a top seeded time and All-America Consideration. He was also on the 400 freestyle relay, along with Kurt Youngdahl, Eric Sirjord and Noah Busch that finished with the top seed. The 400 freestyle relay also earned All-America Consideration.
Meanwhile, the 200 freestyle relay took second, Austin Sarna took third in the 200 IM and 100 breastroke and Stettner finished third in the 500 freestyle.
