Minnetonka Teams to Play in Hockey Day 2012

will play a starring role in next year's Hockey Day Minnesota—that’s the news out today from the Minnesota Wild, FOX Sports North and Minnesota Hockey, who are working together to put on the event.
The sixth annual Hockey Day Minnesota is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012 and will feature a full day of hockey-related events. It is, organizers say, designed as a celebration of the game, from peewees to pros.
Hockey Day Minnesota 2012 will include three outdoor high school games played on Lake Minnetonka, including Minnetonka vs. Duluth East (boys) and Minnetonka vs. Hopkins (girls), as well as a Minnesota Wild game from Xcel Energy Center, and the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers against Colorado College game, broadcast from Mariucci Arena.
