Minnetonka Boys Hockey Wins At Blake

Skippers improve to 9-3-1 with non-conference victory on Friday night.

The Minnetonka boys hockey team continued its long skate up to the brief Lake Conference season with a 5-3 victory at Blake on Friday night in Hopkins.

Forward Max Coatta's short-handed goal at 9:17 of the first period put the Skippers up for good at 1-0 before another short-handed goal by forward Vinny Lettieri at 7:10 of the second period increased his team's advantage to 2-0 before the Bears mustered up their first goal of the game at 11:30 of the frame.

A 2-1 deficit was as close as Blake would get, however, as Coatta posted a hat trick with back-to-back power play goals at 13:51 and 15:19 of the period to give Minnetonka a 4-1 advantage heading into the third period.
