Minnetonka Athlete Sets New Conference Triple Jump Record

Piper Jensen helped the Skippers win the Lake Conference Championships.

Minnetonka athlete Piper Jensen set a new school and conference record in the triple jump, helping the Skippers dominate Tuesday’s Lake Conference Championships at Eden Prairie.

Jensen placed first by jumping 38-feet-seven-inches. Overall, Minnetonka came away with 130 points—42.34 points more than second-place Eden Prairie, according to Athletic.net.

According to the Minnetonka Track & Field and Cross Country Association, other highlights include:

  • Mia Barron won the 100-meter hurdles in 15:36 and the 300-meter hurdles in 47.32.
  • Carolina Bowe placed second in the 100-meter sprint with a time of 12.77 and sixth in the 200-meter with a time of  26.64.
  • Endy also won the 800-meter race with a time of 2:20.72.
  • Mia Barron finished second in the triple jump with a jump of 37-feet-7.50-inches, and Katie Steele jumped 34-feet-1-inch to come in fourth place. 
  • Barron also won the long jump with a leap of 17-feet -9-inches. Kira Smiley finished third (15-feet-7.5-inches). Rebecca Moore finished fourth (15-6.25).
  • Macy Narr won the pole vault, with a jump of 10-feet-6-inches, a foot higher than the runner-up. 
  • Celeste Snyder finished second in both the shot put (35-feet-4-inches) and discus (103-feet-6-inches). 
  • The 4x400-meter relay team finished first. (Anne Haakenstad, Meghan Janssen, Lucy Hoelscher, and Elizabeth Endy)
  • The 4x200-meter relay team placed second. (Alex Orlowsky, Anne Haakenstad, Rebecca Moore, and Carolina Bowe)
  • The 4x800-meter relay team placed second. (Presley Norby, Anne Haakenstad, Meghan Janssen, and Lucy Hoelscher)
  • The 4x100-meter relay team placed fourth. (Natalie VanOchten, Karina Smiley, Alex Orlowsky, and Addie Brokaw)
