Hopkins Shooters Place Second in Conference

Also: Minnetonka finished fifth in its conference of the Minnesota State High School Clay Target League.

The Hopkins High School Trap Club  finished trap-shooting season ranked second in its conference, according to the Minnesota State High School Clay Target League.

The team’s 94 total points placed it behind only St. Michael-Albertville High School.

Tom Koppe’s 22.3-point season average was fourth in the 13A Conference among boys, while Kelsey Specht’s 15.9 points ranked her seventh for the girls.

Meanwhile, the Minnetonka High School Trap Team finished fifth in the 14A Conference with 54 points. Marlee Gartner’s 13.4 points placed her 10th in the conference for girls.

The shooters will next try to carry their success into the Minnesota State High School Clay Target League State Tournament that takes place June 7 though 9 at the Alexandria Shooting Park. About 200 students are expected to compete.
