Hopkins Grad Shoots 100 percent in Last Game of Freshman Season

Ebony Livingston now plays for the University of Minnesota, Crookston.

Just one season into her college career with the University of Minnesota, Crookston, Hopkins grad Ebony Livingston is already hitting milestones on the basketball court.

In the Golden Eagles’ last game of the season Feb. 25, Livingston shot a perfect 100 percent for a season high 19 points. In all, Livingston went:

  • Six for six on field goals,
  • Two for two on three-pointers and
  • Five for five on free throws.

Livingston—who was on —also grabbed six rebounds and recorded two assists in the 81-86 loss to Augustana College, S.D.

“I think it definitely shows that I’m improving my skills all around,” she said. “I just go out there and try to do my best.”

Livingston was fully aware of the moment while it was happening, but she said she just tried not to get caught up in the excitement. That wasn’t exactly easy she had a lot of family at the game who hadn’t seen her play in a while. Yet she was able to remain dialed in and sink basket after basket.

That may have been the highlight of the season, but Livingston has had a strong season overall—especially for a freshman. She started 22 of 26 games and had the second-highest number of minutes on the court for the team. She was also third on the team for rebounds and second in free throw percentage.

Despite this, Livingston said she’s better for her aggressive play than for precision shooting.

“I’ve always been a streaky shooter, I’m not going to lie,” she laughed.

Sorry, but the stats you show add up to 23 points, not the 19 given, so which is it?

The three pointers are also included in the field goals.

Got it, wow, can't believe I didn't see that.
